About Ndichia Foundation
Our Origin
Ndichia Foundation is a non-profit organization that focuses on training and educating the disadvantaged children of society, equipping them with valuable skills that will improve their own lives and those of society. Named after Mr. Ndichia Primus Nkuo, a retired teacher, lover of education, and passionate about the poor and vulnerable in the community, Ndichia Foundation builds capacity by identifying children who need support.
Through education, the organization aims to reach out to the poorest of the poor in the community to restore stability in their emotional, spiritual, psychological, and social well-being. Based on the words of John F. Kennedy, “A child miseducated is a child lost,” the Ndichia Foundation provides the means to enable children to pursue studies with sustainable long-term programs, linking children to local economic strengthening activities in the community.
Ndichia Foundation was born on the 4th of February 2012 when, during the priestly ordination of Rev Fr Anthony Ndang Ndichia MHM, his father Mr Primus Nkuo Ndichia confided in him and said, “You are now a priest. Whatever money or property in the family shall be used at all times to make a difference in the lives of the poor.” Since then, through the initiatives of Mr Nkuo P. Ndichia and his family, many children have been assisted and offered education. Some of those assisted are doing well in society. Finally, the Ndichia Foundation was legalised on the 18th of December 2019 by the Senior Divisional Officer for Boyo, Mr Tegni Judde, with reference number 05/ACK/E.32/SAAJP.
Who we are
The Ndichia Foundation has been formed under the provisions of Law No. 90/053 of 19th December 1990, concerning the freedom of association in Cameroon. It is abbreviated as NF. The Ndichia Foundation is a non-profit, apolitical organisation without religious segregation, which aims to provide diverse assistance to underprivileged and vulnerable children. This association is a voluntary, mutual organisation aimed at assisting children in distress.
In supporting boys and girls from different social, cultural and religious backgrounds, Ndichia Foundation assists people who are passionate about education and skills formation. Ndichia Foundation seeks to develop young people while tracking, monitoring and providing feedback mechanisms with educational programs, and referral services in the community and the world at large. Fundamentally, the foundation aims to bridge the gap between learners and the education they deserve. Changing young lives in Cameroon and building a brighter future for our country and the world at large are the biggest dreams of Ndichia Foundation. The Foundation defines roles, responsibilities, and structures for the selection and monitoring of children at different levels of education.
Ndichia Foundation has as its goal to help orphans and vulnerable children empower themselves with educational programmes, skills development and training, monitoring, enrolment, attendance, performance and completion of education. This organisation is a non-profit-making, non-political, social and non-religious group.
